Try starting SketchUp by double-clicking its desktop icon or by clicking the link on the "Start" menu (in other words, don't try to open it by double-clicking a model, in case the model itself is corrupt). The best way to fix this issue is to upgrade to Norton Internet Security 2006.Īs an alternative, you can temporarily disable the Norton Internet Security 2005 firewall, start SketchUp, and then re-enable the firewall.
#RAPID SKETCH UPDATE#
The Norton Internet Security 2005 firewall blocks SketchUp (and many other programs that have a built-in Web update service) from starting. To fix this issue, simply upgrade to the current version of EarthLink TotalAccess. When this happens, you may see a BugSplat dialog box. There is a known issue with EarthLink TotalAccess 2005.1 that can cause SketchUp and other programs to fail to start up. Your computer and operating system must meet the minimum requirements. There are a few known issues that can cause this: Make sure that there aren't any applications running on your system that might conflict with SketchUp, such as anti-virus, firewall, or internet security software. Reboot your system to ensure that SketchUp isn't locked by another process. To use RapidSketch: With a model open, select the Sketch tab and click RapidSketch or RapidSketch (Sketch toolbar). As you move to each planar face, a plane is created and a sketch is opened. Check that your system meets the requirements for SketchUp. RapidSketch allows you to select planar faces or planes, and with any sketch tool active, start to sketch.
